A 1 ft. perennial with deeply cut dark green leaves. Native to the mountains bordering the Mojave Desert. A different rock garden plant. It has grown here in full sun with no water or care. If you trim the 12" flower spike after the bright yellow flowers set the dark green leaves will make a wonderful border for a walkway, next to a lawn or around a pond. It should do great back east with no care and no water. I think it would be effective as a small scale groundcover. It has a long flowering period that seems to attract people when it is in flower. We saw it around Bodie area and at Lee Vining.[RIP in a assoc. with PINY,YEL, MEADOW][C-R][YR][pH 5-7]
