Pinus murrayana,(P.contorta murraya or P. contorta latifolia, HA! It doesn't look the same, smell the same, or grow the same as P. contorta. A very different tree and the botany has caused our customers some confusion. This is not a coastal tree! A very slow tree to 100 ft.. A very refined tree for high elevation formal gardens. A real pain at our elevation. It is unhappy here at all times. The areas where it grows have more rainfall, snow on the ground for 6 months and no summer heat. It grows best in the mountains.
