(Munz and McMinn both divide P.Lewisii into two sub-species, but plants from both locations \'key out\' the same here.) A deciduous shrub that grows fast to 6\'. It has fragrant white 2 inch flowers in May-July. It\'s native to Northwestern U.S.. It will survive full sun to part shade. It\'s garden tolerant, very drought tolerant, but showy when happy. We\'ve had people drive 500 miles to buy this one. But we\'ve also had people buy it in the nursery only when they see it is in flower. It is not bad looking, it just doesn\'t stand out until it is in flower. It is similar to the lilac in its brancing and the flowers can be very fragrant.
