A 1-2' perennial with grey foliage and bright blue 1" flowers that start out yellow. The flowers are decent but the plant is not vigorous and unstable in many settings (even though our soil and climate are similar). I think this plant needs to be on open north slopes in most areas to work. It also should be considered non-drought tolerant if your rainfall is less than 20 inches. Having said that, I should also say that we have 3 plants planted in high shade, under oaks and getting watered very lightly once/summer. They have been there since the spring of 1991, flowering and doing very well.
