Can not handle rainfall above 15 inches. A somewhat woody perennial to 2ft. high. It grows in the Mojave desert from Riverside to Utah. It has 2inch light purple flowers that are a stunning contrast to its harsh habitat in spring. You can get a second flowering with pruning again in fall. It needs perfect drainage, summer drought (water until est.), and full sun. It has not been reliable below 25 deg. because of our wet winters (when we have them). Best in desert areas.
