A evergreen shrub to 8 ft. It is not as cold or drought tolerant as Dendromecon rigida, but more garden tolerant. A highly prized bush that is rare in cultivation and hard to produce. It is cold hardy to 5 F. The new/old taxonomy on this is a sub-species of Dendromecon rigida. I agree. The plants are nearly identical if treated alike. D. rigida is a little more hardy and D. harfordii is a little easier to do from cuttings. Plants planted together in the same climate are so similar they would not key out with the taxonomy books. If you like the plant plant either one if you can find one. A rare plant.
Dendromecon harfordii Island Bush Poppy tolerates sand and clay.
Dendromecon harfordii Island Bush Poppy's foliage color is silver and type is evergreen.
Dendromecon harfordii Island Bush Poppy's flower color is yellow.
