(Mimulus aurantiacus )A monkey flower form the mid elevations of the central and northern Sierras. A little nicer looking than the common coastal form, flowers are the same deep orange. Use with Manzanitas, Ceanothus, Penstemons and Zauschneria. In the Sierras it occurs up to about 5000 feet commonly in the road cuts and tailings of decomposed granite and even straight granite.
