Is similar to C. velutinus var. laevigatus but is much more hardy. It was burnt this year at June Lake at -20 degrees F.(?). It only reaches a height of 4' in its range. I would not try either of these in areas where there is summer heat. We've seen this plant along the east side of the Sierra Nevada. Companion plants are Cercocarpus betuloides, and Purshia tridentata.
Ceanothus velutinus velutinus's foliage color is silver, type is evergreen and has fragrance.
Ceanothus velutinus velutinus's flower color is white.
Communities for Ceanothus velutinus velutinus:Chaparral, Yellow Pine Forest, Red Fir Forest and Mixed-evergreen Forest.
