The straight species of Carmel Ceanothus is a large bush or small tree, growing very fast to eight to ten feet. We grew it for a while, but it's hard to keep on the list because no one bought it. It is easy to grow and maintain along most of the coast and even in the San Joaquin Valley. Bambi really, really likes this species so planting is limited to areas where the deer or infrequent.
