Evergreen groundcover 1 ft. high 6 ft. wide. It has blue flowers on dark green foliage. If you live near the coast it's a good tough ground cover. It will not tolerate full sun or drought in the interior. Does ok if given afternoon shade. It's fairly fast. Deer don't prefer this one but will eat it if starving. One of best in beach sand. It makes a flat dark green ground cover with once/week water. These were covered with 3" of snow one year in containers with no damage. All of our plants including those in the ground froze in 1990 at about 2-5 degrees. A rare plant. Saratoga Horticultural Foundation in San Martin introduced 'Anchor Bay' in 1976. In their 'Saratoga Reports' says "the significant value of this selection however is in its dense habit and lustrous foliage. "This clone doesn't buy you any less problems in the interior.
