Description

Emily Brown Ceanothus is a small scale groundcover about one to two feet high and four to six feet across. The small holly leaves are dark green with dark red-brown stems. Emily Browns dark blue flowers are at its best near the coast, needs some shade inland. The plants are deer proof, cold tolerant to 10 degrees F. but in the interior heat this one loses its form and becomes leggy. Not as drought tolerant as the interior species but in interior, but satisfactory near the coast. Not a very good clone. (Sorry Emily) Click here for more about Mountain Lilacs.
