Description
Herbaceous Perennial with thick woody base, large, wide mostly basal leaves, pale violet flowers, not as decorative as the exotic species of Limonium as the flowers are smaller and paler, but still showy nevertheless. Grows in salt marshes and the coastal strand plant community along the California coast, and into northern Baja California.
Characteristics
Limonium californicum Western Marsh-Rosemary tolerates seaside conditions, alkaline soil, salt, no drainage and seasonal flooding.
