Description

California Vervain is an aggressive perennial that is weedy in gardens. In the wild it is a pioneer species that is used by many native butterflies and other insects. In the garden it will grow to 2-3 ft. tall and be coverved with small blue verbena flowers. Native to most of California to Oregon. It should be considered when hydroseeding or planting for erosion control or if you really need butterflies in your garden.
