Description
Turricula parryi, Poodledog Bush is show stopper when it flowers. This is one of the largest fire following wildflowers. It does not compete well with grass seeding after fires. If there is a brush fire in your area that has not been seeded with grasses (or other weeds) keep your eye out for this plant. You will probably never see it in a nursery.

I've been a fan of your website for years. Having recently gotten a
job with the Angeles National Forest, I am now afflicted with the
horrible rash of the poodle-dog bush. Your profile for Turricula
parryi has no description about the toxicity of this plant. I think it
would be a public service to include a warning somewhere on your site.

The article neglected to mention any warning about avoiding this plant. It is extremely toxic and can cause severe contact dermatitis. Please revise to include this information.
Some people are allergic to Turricula and get a Poison oak like rash. For us it's seems no worse than Cotonaster,
Malocothamnus or Fremontia to us.
