Description

Sea-Blite is a Rare plant. CNPS List 1b, R-E-D Code 3-3-3. The foliage is grey-green smooth (like a small iceplant) flowers are yellow-green blobs that resemble clusters of pollen followed fruits that appear like welts on the stem. Despite my description, the plant is attractive in an Sprenger Asparagus way. This plant used to range along much of California's bays. It exists just at high tide line. Since we showed up, piers, swing sets, and weeds have covered most of the habitat. THIS is a PLANT TO LOOK at and PHOTOGRAPH, maybe weed the Veldt Grass around, don't MOLEST. Cuttings and seeds are both very unreliable as it has very strict habitat requirements. It is probably possible to grow for mitigation, but by a native grower, and with a trail run first(allow time, please). There are few plants left.
