Description

Emory globemallow grows throughout most of the desert areas of the west. Give the plant full sun, mineral soil(no amendments), no mulch other than a rock mulch. Tolerates regular water but will be short lived. Likes heat, hates a lot of summer fog. likes fast draining soils, but in the desert with it's low rainfall can tolerate some nasty soils. This Desert Mallow is highly variable in shape and size, Intermountain Flora lumps this species with Sphaeralcea angustifolia as the two species intragrade and the hybrids are even more variable.
