Rubus leucodermis
Western Raspberry and Blackcap Raspberry.
Western Raspberry is an wild raspberry with strikingly gray canes and red to black Raspberries I've only seen western Raspberry in the redwoods/Douglas Fir around Willits. It was a bramble in a shady seep. In the nursery it has been unstable unless it has regular water, then it will take sun to shade. The raspberries taste like a regular raspberry without the flavor.
Rubus leucodermis tolerates sand, clay, no drainage and seasonal flooding.
Foliage of Rubus leucodermis is deciduous.
Flower of Rubus leucodermis has color white.
Fruit of Rubus leucodermis is edible.
Communities for Rubus leucodermis:Douglas Fir Forest, Red Fir Forest, Mountain Meadow, Mixed-evergreen Forest, Northern Oak Woodland, Redwood Forest, Riparian (rivers & creeks) and Yellow Pine Forest.
