Description

This is a little 3-6" perennial that has 1" white or blue flowers arising slightly above the foliage. It has done fine in the nursery for years. It never has gotten very big, but it has flowered for 3 months at a time during our winter. It seems to like our 50-60 deg. daytime temperatures and 20 deg. nights. We give it regular water and good drainage. I tried drought stress and they didn't like it much(they disappeared). A great rock garden plant in the Pacific Northwest and the Northeast. It is native to higher elevations from 8000-11000' from Ca. to Alaska and east Wyo.. I think it would be interesting to try in miniature rock gardens at higher elevations.
