Description

Mahonia pinnata or Berberis pinnata, the name has changed many times, or all it California Oregon grape, that will confuse folks. Whatever, this is a nice looking, dark green bush that grows in shady north slopes, rock outcroppings, seeps and springs from Oregon to Baja along the inner coast ranges. The glossy leaves make this Mahonia very desirable. The plants are beautiful and easy to grow in most garden situations, but we never have great numbers as it is very slow to grow.
