Biennial to short-lived perennial, from a taproot, small insignificant white flowers, gray-woolly leaves, weedy, short-lived plant, best for butterfly gardens, can become weedy under certain conditions. CCo, SCoRO, SCo, nChI, SnBr, PR, nBaja, CA. Not necessary for ecological restoration as may seed into the area naturally. Grows in open areas. Old name: Gnaphalium microcephalum
