This clumping perennial grass is so soft, and pretty, with really thin soft stems and leaves. Slender Hair Grass disappears in summer (drops to a faint brown patch); is a light grass that blows in the breeze on moist, slowly draining soils that are wet in spring and hold moisture way into dry summers. This grass ranges in various habitats, throughout California. In our location, it grows and stays green, in shady, moist spots.
