Description

Commonly grows to less than six feet in height, usually much lower. Leaves are dark green, twigs gray, and the flowers white. Native to sagebrush scrub, pinyon-juniper woodland, found mostly on slopes and into the Joshua tree woodland. This desert ceanothus perfect for desert or dry mountain gardens, and much more appropriate than what is usually planted. Click here for more about Mountain Lilacs. Fragrant flowers on a bush that doesn't burn very well is perfect for the mimimalist mountian landscape, or that inland surban home with the mountain dweller in it.
