Description

Black sagebrush grows at slightly higher elevations(5000-11,0000 ft.) than Artemisia tridentata in thin rocky soils. (Artemisia nova, also known as Artemisia arbuscula ssp. nova, A. tridentata subsp. nova, Seriphidium novum with a few variations.) Native to Northeast California into Eastern Oregon, Ida, Mont. and down into New Mexico. A little mound of gray, about the size of a large gray wig. A great rock garden plant.
