Description
Laguna manzanita is a sprawling evergreen manzanita shrub that will form a knee high groundcover. VERY gray with red stems. Seems to be very drought tolerant, deer tolerant and tolerant of neglect and people.
Associated plants include Keckiella ternatus, Keckiella antirrhinoides microphylla, Arctostaphylos otayensis (Otay Manzanita), Prunus fremontii, Quercus agrifolia, and believe it or not Acacia greggii. Native in the center and eastern parts of San Diego County. Soil varies from reddish clay to decomposed granite.
