A gooseberry that grows on north slopes and under bays, oaks, madrones, big leaf maples and occasional pines from Arroyo Grande to Monterey. This gooseberry can grow in pretty heavy shade and in springs, but also can be found in eastern slopes in near full sun. The locations always cool.
