A lower mounding form with very grey foliage. This one handles indirect summer water well. The leaves stay below 6 inches tall and spread to 3 foot wide. Light pink flowers cover the plant a foot or so above the foliage. Place stones between plants and let the flowers cover them for a couple of months in the early summer. The buckwheats are very important butterfly plants and one of the pillars of their communities. The flowers, leaves and seeds are all used by all the smaller animals. Click here for more about California Buckwheats
