Common name: Buttercup, Crowfoot.

Description

A perennial with dissected foliage, and bright, yellow flowers that emerge in early to mid spring, grows best in deeper, clay soil, goes deciduous in summer. Usually on a north slope with Hordeum brachyantherum ssp. californicum, Lotus corniculatus, Lomatium sp., and other coastal sage scrub opening plants. Prefers soil clay/serpentine but can grow on many soils.
