Wholesale / Mail Order

We have been involved with the ecology of California native plants, and the science of growing them for gardens and restoration projects since 1974. Most of the plants we grow are sold in one- gallon containers for obvious reasons (explained in the catalogue). For customers of our wholesale nursery division we grow stress-tolerant plants that can be set into the landscape or habitat and watered only one time (or not watered at all). Our success with this plan using zero to one irrigation has been 75% -99% (number of live plants/number of total plants set out on site). We do grow more plant species indigenous to California than any other nursery in California and specialize in problem sites. We ship landscape plants to our wholesale customers within the state of California via United Parcel Service, for a handling fee of $10.00 for the entire order, whether you order one plant or 100 plants. We are open to wholesale customers Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Pacific Standard Time.

Retail /Mail Order

For our mail order customers, we ship one-gallon- size plants throughout the continental United States, and can send special orders (bare root only) throughout the world. We are also open to the public every Saturday from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. We have introduced several very popular, native hybrids to the landscaping trade, which can be seen at our nursery and Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden, Claremont, California, including: Penstemon x heterophyllus 'Margarita BOP', Salvia x clevelandii 'Pozo Blue', Ceanothus 'Remote Blue', and Ceanothus L.T. Blue (all are described in the catalogue). Our demonstration garden is open to the public every Saturday and is at its peak from March through May.

Biological / Ecological Restoration Services

We conduct biological site assessment, surveys for rare and endangered plants and animals, and biological and ecological reviews of ecological restoration projects. We also generate appropriate plant lists and specific requirements for successful restoration projects of particular sites. We specialize in the more difficult, upland sites. We have implemented projects from serpentine wetlands to upland sites with toxic amounts of boron and sodium.

Landscape Services
