Description
(Styrax officinalis var. redivivus), SOuthern Snowdrop Bush, is native in San Luis Obispo county about 15 miles from us, and south down through San Diego. Grows on reddish sand stone or decomposed granite usually on high points. In Southern California it is on Camp Pendleton looking down onto the base and the sea beyond. Commonly associated with Arctostaphylos glandulosa, Quercus agrifolia, Pinus coulterii, Dendromecon, Heteromeles, Lonicera denutata, and Salvia, mellifera in the north of its range, clevelandii in the south.
