Description

Ground rose grows in small colonies in Central California from the San Luis Obispo area up into Mendocino and Humbolt and in the Sierras from Tulare to Yuba. Rosa spithamea has a poorly defined var. sonomensis that is supposed to exist along the coast. Fuzz on the leaves lies in the eyes of the beholder I guess, Hoover couldn't find in Flora of San Luis Obispo, we seem to have the same problem. So if we sell this plant the variety will not be listed. You will get a small little rose with very limited spines and a nice flower.
