Syn: Potentilla egedii in Hoover) This cinquefoil is a perennial herb with heart- shaped, yellow, strawberry- like flowers. It has soft green strawberry- like leaves. It is no coincidence that the Marsh Cinquefoil looks similar to a strawberry as they are both in the rose family and are closely related. Marsh Cinquefoil can be found in freshwater marshes. Marsh Cinquefoil likes full sun, sand or clay. It can tolerate poor drainage, and seasonal flooding. This low perennial is a good groundcover for moist places at lower elevations.
