Description
Granite Gilia is a rock garden plant that lives in the rocky areas of many a western mountain tops. Needs good drainage, and a spot in the rocks. This could be a crack that you can dig into in a rock, stone or concrete wall, a rock garden, with REAL rocks(what will they try next, styro rocks and silk plants?). The problems with these plants are generally two, if you have no snow and a lot of winter rain(25+ inches) theyll need PERFECT drainage, and they hate summer heat. The areas they grow in lend to shutting down all winter, hiding under the snow, and coming out into moist cool summers, much like everyones spring, and never seeing a hot day, nor cold for that matter. Mix with Linum, the higher elevation buckwheats, penstemons, or monardellas.
