Lathyrus vestitus, Wild Pea and Pacific pea.
Pacific pea is a perennial with twining stems, with tendrils, eastern slope, after fire, chaparral, scattered annuals assoc., and crown-sprouting shrubs, Cercocarpus betuloides, Heteromeles arbutifolia, Adenostoma fasciculatum. Somewhat difficult in downtown gardens as it is not commonly found in disturbed areas. Usually occurs in part shade near oaks and assoc. plants..This little perennial grows down the road from us on a north west facing road cut, under Quercus Douglasii, in a clay-loam.. the flowers are whitish-lavender with some yellow.
