Description
We've had arguements about this one. I love the smell, the flowers and the foliage, Celeste thinks Mountain Misery is miserable. In the forests this delightful groundcover(hey, I'm writing it) covers vast areas under Jeffery pine, Ponderosa Pine, Douglas Fir and White fir. The small white flowers are like Potentilla, and nearly identical to Chamaebatiaria.
Where snow regularly cover Mountain Misery it lays down and becomes a low mat, in areas with little or no snow it will grow into an attractive 3-4 foot bush. Startling when you first see it in flower as a shrub instead of a groundcover.
