A full sized Ceanothus ramulosus fascicularis, Coastal Buckbrush in beach sand. On on of my jobs in the early 80's.
Description
(Syn. Ceanothus cuneatus var. fascicularis) Ceanothus ramulosus is a ten foot tall by ten to fifteen feet wide bush in Los Osos or a five foot bush in Lompoc. The fragrant blue flowers make for masses of color in spring. Grows in beach sand. Often mistaken for Ceanothus cuneatus. Easy and fast in coastal sands. A pain in the butt to grow up into gallons. Youll never find hundreds of these in the nursery. Generally deer proof in its native range. Click here for more about California Lilacs (Ceanothus).
