Description

Evergreen shrub fast to 10', a C. aboreus cultivar-hybrid, deer love these, blue flowers on long spikes, dark green leaves, plant in full sun, reg. water inland drought tolerant near coast, good drainage. I'm not impressed with this one as it's always under a struggle in all but the perfect spots.(Coastal fog drip within CSCR.) It does not do well in the interior and can not take much cold. Cold tolerant to 10 f.in Dec. 1990, died following year. We stopped growing it at that point. Click here for more about Mountain Lilacs.
